My name is Lynn. I live in Philadelphia with my husband and my 2 children ages 25 and 24. I love to cook, and I love to be outdoors whether it is fishing or kayaking. I initially developed a love of cooking from taking a home economics class in grade school. Yes, there was such a thing back then! As the oldest of 4 my mother relied on me to help cook dinners at a very early age. We mostly made meals that were quick, easy and affordable. We kept a recipe box full of family recipes. They were a staple in my childhood home and now that I am married with my own children, they are a staple in my home. My kids will say “Christmas Eve is not right unless we have the sausage on rye”.
I love to entertain and am always hosting, whether it is a holiday or just a family get together. Working full time and going to school does make entertaining a bit stressful but, easy recipes and a schedule of tasks makes entertaining a breeze. I hope some of my tips will help you become the entertainer you have always wanted to be.
Through the years I have added to my collection of family recipes and still do today. My recipe box has now become a binder that sits in my kitchen. I hope you will enjoy the recipes and please feel free to take those that you love and make them part of your family recipe collection.
